The Return of Mighty the Squirrel

I had been very worried about Mighty.  I had not seen him since March 19.  At his last visit, he was starting to use his front leg and his fur regrowth was almost complete.  After I didn’t see him for over a week, I was worried that a fox or other predator in the area had found him.  Many days I would grab the binoculars and look over each and every squirrel.  I was hopeful that Might had healed so completely that I just didn’t notice him.  About a week ago, I stopped looking.  If you would like to read about Mighty, ( a squirrel I treated who had mange as well as a broken right leg) you may see the original post here and an update here.

This morning I was looking outside and saw many squirrels in the yard.  All at once two squirrels came running into the yard, one chasing the other.  I looked closely as one of the squirrels looked odd.  I grabbed the binoculars and was so happy to see it was Mighty.  His ears are still mostly down, but it appears his leg has completely healed!!  He looked so good.  I took out some nuts along with his favorite, the walnut!  The squirrels all scattered, but Mighty came back shortly after I was inside.  He ate and ate.  I was able to snap a few pictures too.

Sometimes it is the simple things in life that bring such joy!!

Here are some pictures that show his progress.  I first took a picture of him in mid February, then a few in March and one from today.
